Visitor Information Officer - Casual (Warragamba Dam)

We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information.  We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities. We also own and operate the largest surface and groundwater monitoring network in the southern hemisphere and build, maintain and operate essential infrastructure.

We are currently looking to fill multiple (casual) Visitor Information Officer positions based at our Warragamba Dam Visitor Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and dedicated team. You will facilitate positive face to face interactions and provide accurate advice and information and encouraging visitor learning and engagement with exhibitions, interpretive elements and activities about Warragamba Dam and the broader role and work of WaterNSW.

Working primarily on weekends and public holidays, generally between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm, shifts will be allocated through a roster developed well in advance. You may on occasion be requested to work additional days Monday to Friday, to cover for planned staff absences or to attend training or organisational events. The Visitor Centre is open to the public every day of the year except Christmas Day and Good Friday.


We are looking for:

  • Current NSW Drivers License.
  • First aid certificate and fire warden Training (or willingness to obtain).
  • NSW Working with Children Check clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in engaging with the community in a customer service or educational environment.
  • Experience in responding appropriately to public enquiries and providing information to individuals and groups across diverse cultural backgrounds and ages.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

 Experience that will be viewed favorably but is not mandatory: 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high volume visitor environment and respond to changing workloads.
  • Ability to operate audio visual presentation technology, competence in using selected Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to undertake web based research.
